Welcome to the Boston Area SharePoint Users Group!

The Boston Area SharePoint Users Group (BASPUG) was founded to bring together like minds to network and share their
experiences, triumphs, and tribulations around Microsoft SharePoint, to provide a community platform
for Boston area SharePoint users, administrators, developers, architects, of all experience levels,
even brand new to SharePoint, to share their knowledge with the community.
We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the Microsoft New England Research and Development Center in Cambridge, MA.

SUSTENANCE
Food will be graciously provided by our meeting sponsors. The meetings will also not stop to a dead halt at 8pm, that is just when we need to be out of the facility. After the user group meetings, we will most likely announce and adjourn to a local watering hole, to continue on our discussions and networking, which may or may not be sponsored.

RAFFLE PRIZES
We will be handing out raffle tickets at the BASPUG meetings (when we have items to raffle that is!). Black Blade Associates will be raffling off a license, valued at $2000 for their SharePoint Zip product, at each and every meeting of the BASPUG! Lightning Tools will also be raffling off licenses for their BCS Meta Man product at each meeting ($1200 value).

We will also be working with some publishers as well to extend discounts, be able to raffle off free books, and more, to the members of the BASPUG.

FREQUENCY
The BASPUG will meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, from 6pm to 8pm EST, starting May 12th, 2010.

Eugene Rosenfeld Eugene Rosenfeld
Eugene Rosenfeld is the CTO of Black Blade Associates Inc., and Microsoft MVP awardee. He started his IT career as a database programmer and soon moved into enterprise application integration (EAI) and portal systems. Eugene holds a strong belief that all systems should have the innate ability to intelligently communicate with one another. Most recently he has been heavily involved with distributed systems architecture, Services Oriented Architected (SOA), peer-to-peer systems, and cloud computing.

Eugene believes that in order to develop the best applications of tomorrow, it is necessary to encourage developers to think differently about how systems should interact with users and other systems today. Eugene also holds a strong belief in mentoring others. He has put these beliefs into practice through many years of consulting services, developer training, community involvement, and ultimately by co-founding Black Blade. Eugene spends his time developing innovative SharePoint products and utilities, like the docBlock Ascend, which brings virtual documents to the SharePoint platform and incorporates Eugene’s interests in distributed systems, SOA, peer-to-peer systems. Eugene also maintains his blog, "Things that Should be Easy". Check it out for tips that may make your current project a little easier.
